UK firm Ashurst and Brazil’s Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados have advised Stein SP Participações, an affiliate of Brazilian oil company Petra Energia, in entering into a secured credit agreement with Citibank.

advised on UK law matters, while Pinheiro Neto Advogados provided Brazilian counsel to Citibank
in the US$704 million deal, which closed on 28 June. The credit agreement was
secured by a fiduciary assignment of receivables from Petra Energia, which
acted as guarantor.
