Souza, Cescon, Barrieu e Flesch – Advogados has helped the concessionaire for Viracopos, an international airport on the outskirts of São Paulo, obtain a 1.2 billion reais loan (US$598 million) from development bank BNDES.

A syndicate of banks, advised by Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados, acted as guarantors: Banco do Brasil, Banco Bradesco, Banco Itaú BBA, Banco Pine, Banco Santander (Brasil) and ING Bank, São Paulo branch. The Brazilian arm of the Bank of New York Mellon, counselled by TozziniFreire Advogados, acted as the administrative and collateral agent.

Earlier in the month, BNDES granted a US$148.5 million bridge loan to another São Paulo airport (and the Brazil’s busiest), Guarulhos, which was advised by Pinheiro Neto Advogados.
