Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados in São Paulo; Claro & Cía in Santiago; Marval, O′Farrell & Mairal in Buenos Aires; Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (Peru); and Posadas, Posadas & Vecino in Montevideo have helped US private equity fund Warburg Pincus acquire a minority stake in Brazilian food processing company Camil from local private equity group Gávea.
Gávea sought advice from Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados in São Paulo, while Camil turned to Souza, Cescon, Barrieu & Flesch Advogados for the deal, which was signed on 12 July with no value disclosed.
Gávea parts with its entire 31.75 per cent stake in Camil as result of the multijurisdictional transaction. The Brazilian-based food processing company has 27 plants spread over Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Uruguay.
